Plan Every Day of Your Cruise in One Place

Organize itineraries, excursions, shows, and sea days with a cruise planning app built for passengers—not spreadsheets scattered across group chats.

A cruise plan is the operating picture of the voyage: embarkation timing, which days are at sea, which ports are too short for a countryside tour, and who is holding the tickets. If that picture only lives in a group chat, it disappears the moment the ship Wi-Fi stalls.

Use the sections on this page to decide what belongs in the plan before you sail. The checklist works on paper. The app is optional storage for the same decisions — itinerary, reservations, and the offline copy you still need at the gangway.

What a useful cruise plan actually includes

A cruise plan is not a packing list with a prettier title. It is a day-by-day operating picture of your voyage: embarkation logistics, sea-day rhythm, port timing, reservations, and the shared decisions that usually live in five different chat threads.

Rule of thumb: if a detail would cause stress when Wi‑Fi drops, it belongs in the plan before you sail—not in a last-minute group chat at sea.

How to balance sea days and port days

Port-heavy itineraries make the ship a hotel with excellent food. Sea-day-heavy itineraries make the ship the destination. Your planner should reflect which trip you bought.

Port-heavy voyages

Prioritize walking distances from the berth, tender queues, and a hard all-aboard buffer. Keep evening plans light on days with long coach returns.

Sea-day-heavy voyages

Block “protected quiet time” and entertainment holds early. Crowding patterns matter more than port maps when you live onboard for multiple consecutive sea days.

Pre-cruise planning checklist

  1. Confirm ship, sail date, cabin category, and dining style in one shared place
  2. List prepaid items vs pay-as-you-go (Wi‑Fi, drinks, specialty dining, photos)
  3. Draft one shore plan and one weather backup for every port day
  4. Assign owners for documents, boarding passes, and medical notes
  5. Decide which plans must work offline once the ship leaves dock

Common cruise planning mistakes

Most planning failures are timing failures. Guests overbook port mornings, under-buffer tender returns, and forget that specialty dining on embarkation night collides with muster and luggage delays.

A durable plan stores the decision and the owner. “Someone will figure out transfers” is not a plan; “Alex holds train tickets; we leave the hotel at 08:10” is.

Planning for weak onboard Wi‑Fi

Assume connectivity will be slow on sea days. Download boarding documents, excursion vouchers, offline maps for walking ports, and your day plan before the ship casts off. Shared plans should still be readable when the group chat stalls.

If a detail only exists in a cloud tab you cannot open at the gangway, it is not part of your cruise plan yet.

Port-day timing that breaks otherwise good plans

Most missed ships are not dramatic. They are a five-hour call treated like a full day, a tender queue nobody budgeted, or a coach that returns twenty minutes before all-aboard. Write the ship’s all-aboard time, then subtract a buffer you will actually keep: at least 60 minutes for a docked walk-off port, and longer when you depend on a tender or a ship excursion that does not control traffic.

For every port, note three facts before you book anything else: whether you dock or tender, how far the berth is from the sights you care about, and the last time you can be moving back toward the ship. A short call with a long transfer is a ship-excursion day or a nearby walk, not a countryside tour. Put the backup plan in the same place as the primary plan so a closed museum does not turn into an unplanned taxi race.

Frequently asked questions

What should a cruise planner app include?

A strong cruise planner covers daily schedules, port days, bookings, packing, and shared planning for travel companions—without forcing you to juggle multiple apps.

Can I share my cruise plan with family?

Yes. SeaDays Plan supports shared workspaces so everyone sees the same itinerary, packing list, and to-dos in real time.

Does SeaDays work offline on the ship?

SeaDays caches key trip data for weak onboard Wi‑Fi, so your itinerary and notes stay available when connectivity drops at sea.

Optional: keep this in SeaDays
