Data Sharing and Disclosure
We may share your data with:
- Crew Members: Information you share within crew groups
- Service Providers: Cloud hosting, payment processors, analytics
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to provide and improve our app and website:
- Supabase: Cloud database and authentication services
- Sentry: Error tracking and crash reporting to help us identify and fix issues
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4): Website analytics on seadays.app (see Website Analytics below)
- Google AdSense: Display advertising on selected seadays.app blog articles when you consent to advertising cookies (see Advertising below)
- Google AdMob: Advertising platform in the mobile app (for free tier users)
- RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management
These services may collect technical data (device information, error logs, usage analytics) to help us improve app stability and performance. Sentry collects error reports and crash data to help us fix bugs quickly. This data is anonymized and does not include personal information unless an error occurs during a user action.
Website Analytics (seadays.app)
On our marketing and content website (https://seadays.app), we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic, popular pages, and key actions such as store or download clicks. This is separate from in-app analytics and from Google Search Console (which measures search indexing and performance, not on-site behavior).
We use Google Consent Mode v2. By default, analytics and advertising storage signals are set to denied. Analytics cookies are used only after you choose Accept analytics or Accept analytics & ads on our website cookie banner. Choosing analytics does not enable advertising cookies. If you choose Decline all, analytics storage stays denied. You can change your choice later from the Cookie Policy page.
When analytics consent is denied, Google may still receive limited cookieless measurement pings according to Consent Mode.
Advertising
Mobile app: SeaDays shows ads to free tier users through Google AdMob. If you subscribe to Basic, Pro, or Premium, ads are not shown while your subscription is active.
AdMob and its partners may use device identifiers, approximate location, and usage data to deliver and measure ads. In the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to collect your consent before serving personalized ads in the app.
Website (seadays.app): On selected blog article pages we may show Google AdSense display ads. AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies for advertising storage, ad measurement, and—when you allow it—personalized advertising. We do not use Google Auto Ads (no automatically injected pop-ups, interstitials, vignettes, or sticky page-level ads).
Website advertising cookies and personalized AdSense ads are used only after you explicitly choose Accept analytics & ads on the cookie banner (which sets Consent Mode signals such as ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization to granted). Accepting analytics alone does not enable AdSense. If advertising consent is not granted, we do not load AdSense ad requests for personalized advertising on the website.
Your choices:
- On the website: Use the cookie banner choices (Decline all, Accept analytics, or Accept analytics & ads), or reopen them from the Cookie Policy page.
- In the app: Open Profile → Settings → Ad privacy options at any time to review or change your ad consent preferences.
- On iOS: You may also see Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. You can change tracking permission later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
For more information about how Google uses data in advertising, see Google’s Advertising & Privacy page.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
- Secure authentication and password hashing
- Regular security audits and updates
- Limited employee access to personal data
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your data
- Correction: Update inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
- Export: Download your data in a portable format
- Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails
- Ad choices (app): Manage personalized ad consent in the app under Ad privacy options (Profile → Settings)
- Website analytics & advertising: Choose Decline all, Accept analytics, or Accept analytics & ads on seadays.app via the cookie banner, or reopen choices from the Cookie Policy page
To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@seadays.app
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Remember your preferences
- Analyze app performance
- Provide personalized content
- Measure website traffic on seadays.app with GA4 when you consent
You can manage cookie preferences in your device settings. On the website, use the cookie banner (or Cookie Policy controls) for GA4 analytics and AdSense advertising consent. In the mobile app, use Ad privacy options in Settings to manage advertising consent where applicable. When SeaDays opens this Privacy Policy from inside the iOS/Android app, marketing cookie and advertising consent banners are not shown (app-client mode), so App Tracking Transparency choices are not overridden by a second website cookie prompt.
Children's Privacy
SeaDays is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of SeaDays after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
